Lessons from Day 2 of Navratri: Maa Brahmacharini

Devi Brahmacharini is worshipped on the second day of Navratri. She signifies penance, strength, wisdom, and austerity.

In the fast-paced world that we are living in, her presence reminds us to stay calm and composed in order to make the right decisions in life. She also teaches that everyone’s life has its fair share of trying times. They do not spare even the devas. However, take all problems in your stride and keep working towards our highest goals. You can also find the significance of each day of the Navrati here.

Aarti: Maa Brahmacharini

My Ode to Maa Brahmacharini

My salutations to the mighty, yet kind,
Goddess Brahmacharini, the deity divine;
You teach us to hang on, never give up, and realize,
everything would finally turn out just fine.

Life is never a smooth ride,
trials and turbulences an imminent phase;
they teach lessons that need to be learnt,
before taking you through life’s next maze.

Believe in yourself when faced with failure,
get up and move on;
Nobody except you, you are answerable to,
simply identify the areas to work on.

Never give up on yourself,
however hard life seems to get;
because each of you is special in your own way,
and every day is your best bet.

Jai Mata Di
