For those tough times of self-doubt

We are constantly surrounded by people who judge us at each step. Sometimes knowingly. At other times, simply unaware.

As time passes, we start viewing ourseselves through their lenses and start believing that too. We fall into a vicious cycle of people judging us and we believing that we are how people think we are.

I was wondering how to break this vicious cycle that hurts us more than any outsider inflicting the pain. Hope this verse connects with you at a deeper level and helps you separate who you are from what others think you are.

When the going gets tough,
and the internal weather is rough...

the clouds of self-doubt thunder,
am I good enough, I wonder...

I work tirelessly for my loved ones,
still face their cold shoulders and shuns...

My inner critic screams and shouts,
emulating the outer world it scouts...

I cling on to the anchor of hope,
seeking the energy to cope...

I feel week in my knee when judged,
my belief in myself gets smudged...

Suddenly through the overcast sky,
I see a ray, not yet ready to die...

Fighting and wrestling the dark clouds,
to reach the earth, to the seeds ready to sprout...

It knows its true purpose and so,
dodges the drama, defeats the foe...

We all have a purpose, however small,
shun what they feel, follow your call...

Those who judge don't know your worth,
let them interpret, your true self, unearth...

You are beautiful, you are unique,
be proud of who you are, silence forever the critique.

Have a great day and believe in yourself. If you do like this verse, you may also want to read my older posts:
