Akshaya Tritiya – The Infinite You

Let me start by wishing all my readers a very blessed Akshaya Tritiya and a very Happy Eid.

The hype around Akshay Tritiya has always been about purchasing material goods like precious metal or cars. But there is much more significance to this day than splurging.

You can read my last year’s article on the significance of Akshay Tritiya.

Akshay means indestructible. Something that is seamless. Like the sky or love. We acquired this beautiful life form of humans because we have an endless capacity to give. Our pot of empathy is endless. Our pot of love is endless.

Interestingly,  Eid also signifies the spirit of sharing and giving. So today, I write about being an infinite source of giving to humanity.

I wrote a verse early today to define the true significance of Akshay Tritiya to us, the mortal souls. Please let me know in the comments section below your views on the significance of Akshay Tritiya and Eid.

Just like the akshay patra,
        you grow by giving;
as you give, you grow,
        life becomes worth living.

Giving is not restricted,
        to things that have a price;
simpler things like a smile or hug,
        can make life  a paradise.

A few minutes of listening,
        with apt attention without judgement;
can be a turnaround in life,
        for someone, be the key moment.

A re-assuring pat,
      an hour or a half of empathetic hearing;
can brighten a face or lighten a heart,
       for a poor soul, mark a new beginning.

So never undermine what you can give,
       your ability to give, seamless;
be the akshay patra you were born to be,
       and discover the true self in the process.

Although it may not look, sound, or qualify as a verse, but it is a way to convey my heartfelt feelings to my readers.

Have a lovely weekend ahead.
